Prof. Dr. Orhan ALIMOGLU

HEAD OF DEPARMENT OF GENERAL SURGERY

SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

ISTANBUL MEDENİYET UNIVERSITY/GÖZTEPE EĞITIM VE ARAŞTIRMA HASTANESI

Dear Prof.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you, professors and all staff of Istanbul Medeniyet University and Göztepe Eğitm ve Araştırma Hastanesi, for the all guidance, supervision and assistance for the last two months during my educational residence.

This period was an amazing experience for me, and the Göztepe Eğitm ve Araştırma Hastanesi really helped me make the most of this opportunity. As you know, this two-month studywas a perfect combination of theoretical and practical knowledge of General Surgery. While I have taken many courses of General Surgery at University of Hargeisa in conjunction with Istanbul Medeniyet University and I have been practicing surgery at Somaliland, studying here greatly increased my knowledge.

This study period was my first opportunity to learn how the advanced hospitals in Turkey treat people and do life-saving surgeries in state-of-art procedures and technologies. Although two months is a short time, I believethat I got a good experienceon different areas such aselective and emergency wards, Operating Room, Polyclinic and endoscopy.

Finally, I also want to thank the entire staff in the Istanbul Medeniyet University and Göztepe Eğitm ve Araştırma Hastanesi for taking the time to share their expertise and knowledge, and their constant assistance in and off hospital activities. It was through these times that I felt I was able to learn and grow the most in developing my skills over the course of this period. The staff was most responsive to my requests and always made me feel like a home.

Sincerely yours,

Dr Hassan Jama Hassan
